an experienced professional / tradesperson to fill the role of Mine Operator .
This fixed term and full time position is based at the Touquoy mine site located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.
The mine is fully permitted and began production in fall 2017.
Our Mine Operator will join a Dedicated Mine Operations Team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, your role will safely carry out a variety of general labour duties to assist in support of the open-pit mining operation.
Apply all applicable regulations, codes and corporate / site standards operating procedures.
Inspect equipment prior to use. Report damage or malfunctions of equipment to supervisors immediately.
Assist in all aspects of daily mine activities as directed by the Mine Operations Supervisor with an active focus on dewatering.
Responsible for safe use and return of required tools each shift.
Preform environmental rain checks as applicable.
Practice good housekeeping. Pick up and remove any leftover materials or garbage found in the work area.
Obey all driving rules on site.
Be aware of surroundings always.
Undertake other duties as assigned.

Valid Drivers licence, minimum class 5.
Ability to complete daily logs in an accurate manner.
Extensive experience in operating small equipment, hand tools, pumps etc.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
Previous experience operating equipment considered a strong asset
Class 3 driver's license with clean abstract considered a strong asset
