Under the Harris Communications (Australia) Training Development Manager, the Specialist Field Engineer will work within the contracted LAND 200 Tranche 2 (L200-

2) Tactical Communications Network (TCN). This member is responsible for training development and training delivery to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) as part of the introduction into service for the L200-

2 program. Based in the Brisbane area, the Specialist Field Engineer is employed as a Field Service Representative (FSR) and is an integral member of the Harris Communications Australia team in supporting the Australian Defence Force.

Responsible for training design of field and factory based Harris RF Communications tactical radio equipment, in the HF, VHF and UHF (RF) spectrum.

The position does require significant domestic travel in order to provide system support and training to the customer at unit locations.

The Specialist Field Engineer will be required to work as part of a team or as an individual and engage with other Engineers, Program Managers (PM) and Customers.

Key accountabilities are as follows, but not limited to : Construct and deliver all CoA L200-2 training CDRL elements (Training Studies, TNA, TIP, LMPs).

Develop the courseware and training packages for introduction into service on L200-2 solutions. Conduct CoA introduction into service training delivery of the L200-

2 equipment and software solutions. Provision of technical advice and support to customers, via telephone, e-mail or written media in support of the Harris Help Desk.

Provide support to L200-2 system integration activities. Maintain currency in ADF operational requirements, concepts and training procedures.

Maintain currency in communication technology and applications. Conduct communications planning and advice to ADF. Conduct communications development and advice to ADF.

Provide exercise and field support to any of the above activities. Support Supervisor and Direct Support Manager as required.

Qualifications : 2 years post-Secondary / Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience 10+ years previous experience working with CoA military tactical radio communications.

Field engineering experience with tactical radio equipment including installation, operation, fault finding and basic maintenance of static and mobile installations.

Significant skills and knowledge of ADF tactical communications infrastructure. Current Australian SECRET Security Clearance or ability to attain an Australian SECRET Security Clearance.

TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Educated to HNC level or equivalent, engineering or related discipline Preferred Additional Skills : Integration of third party vendor software CCNA or ICND 1 qualified or trained TAE40116 -

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Microsoft Office Suite / VISIO Pro software experience Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
