Position Summary

PremiairAviation Maintenance Pty Ltd is a factory owned Textron Aviation AuthorisedService Center.

TheMaintenance Manager is responsible for Premiair’s Essendon Fields, Victoria,and Coolangatta, Queensland, service locations.

The Maintenance Manager ensureseach location complies with the Companies’ policies, practices and proceduresand ensures each location operates in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.

Manages the preparation for and accomplishmentof all maintenance at Essendon Fields and Coolangatta service locations.Oversees all service functions.

Ensures all activities are compliant with theMaintenance Organisation Manual (MOM), Safety Management System (SMS) and Drugand Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP).

Duties and Responsibilities

MaintenanceManager’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

1.Responsible for the performance of maintenanceand related services by all Engineers at Essendon Fields and Coolangattaservice locations and ensuring that their work meets technical and qualitystandards.

2.Plans, recommends and administers staffing,equipment and facility resources of all Engineers, Administration personnel andSub- Contractors within Essendon Fields and Coolangatta service locations bypreparing cost budgets, requisitions, personnel administrative documents andvarious reports.

3.Responsible for the overall operatingefficiencies of the Essendon Fields and Coolangatta service locationsincludinglabour utilisation and billing efficiency.

4.Develops, recommends and implementsa variety of work method improvements by observing service work, evaluatingtechniques, and soliciting recommendations.

5.Assists in preparing cost estimatesand quotations for service work by researching labour and material requirementsfor specific tasks.

Ensures service sales proposals to customers are accurate,competitive and compatible with the financial objectives of the Company.

6.Responsible for ensuring thatHazardous Materials Handling Standards are met, and personal protectionequipment (PPE) is used where required.

Ensures subordinate employees adhere toall safety and environmental policies and procedures.

7.Reviews customer job scope prior to and duringmaintenance to ensure accuracy prior to aircraft departure. Works with theAccounts team in issuing correct billing invoice, responds to customerquestions concerning any work performed and resolves billing issues.

8.Responsible for on-time delivery ofcustomer aircraft and maintaining appropriate statistics to measure, monitor,and improve shop performance.

9.Responsiblefor shop loss control, including measuring, monitoring and implementing scrapand shop loss reduction programs to minimise such expenses.

10.Reviewscustomer critiques and evaluations of all services provided and ensures thatthe results of such maintenance visit evaluations are shared with theresponsible team members at the service location.

Ensures that a summary of the combinedresults of all customer evaluations is periodically shared with all subordinateemployees.

11.Ensures theproper submission of reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordancewith CASR Regulations.


Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business,Aviation Management, or related field.
  • Qualifications

  • Engineers licence preferred;
  • Pilot’slicence favourable;
  • Have a sound knowledge of CASAregulations;
  • Strong written and verbalcommunication;
  • Ability to work in a teamenvironment and collaborate to achieve desired goals and results;
  • Abilityto identify and maintain a high degree of confidentially;
  • Strong work ethic and sense ofurgency, with the ability to manage competing demands and frequent changes inthe work environment, while managing time effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintainan Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC).
