Abbott Electrophysiology (EP) is a leader in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia with a product portfolio that covers both capital and consumables.

We have a wide range of products to treat both atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and an ongoing commitment to innovation in the treatment of arrhythmias.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Medical device sales person to join our ANZ team.

Ideally, based in Tasmania, and reporting to the Regional Manager, this dynamic role will require the successful applicant to be able to manage the clinical and business function to support this territory, with a strong focus on developing and growing the business and maximising and exceeding sales targets.

The main aspects of this role include :

  • Achieve EP certification by undertaking and completing a thorough in-house training program to allow you to attend and support EP sessions independently
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and increase market share for your assigned territory through building strong relationships and providing high quality clinical service and support
  • Identify key areas of development of growth in your territory and be able to set goals in conjunction with management to achieve those targets
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers that will assist in growing your business and market share to achieve sales targets
  • Develop relationships with key customer groups, identify and utilise key customer networks
  • Actively implement and execute in a timely manner on sales force effectiveness initiatives, to help drive business growth and sales skills development, including strategic territory and account planning, customer profiles and sales training
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge, through journals and other self learning, and actively participate in education programs
  • Work in conjunction with Marketing for key product launches and market development and take a lead position in your territory and at a national level as required
  • Actively know your business and be able to provide market feedback on product and competitor activity
  • Conduct education / training to hospital staff on products and technology
  • Ability to be flexible to meet territory needs and be able to work interstate as required
  • What would make you a successful candidate for this role :

  • Tertiary qualifications in biomedical / engineering / medical science / human movement / business degree or related field (Coronary Care Nursing / Cardiac Technician) essential
  • Prior EP experience will be highly regarded, particularly with NavX.
  • IBHRE Certified desirable
  • A can do attitude and a track record of sales success
  • Strong ability to convert the theory into practice
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong ability to develop relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to communicate technical information and be able to transfer the theory to practical application
  • Self-starter and high initiative
  • Strong understanding of the industry process and function; be able to lead sales calls and have confident robust discussions with customers, as well as internal and external experts
  • Ability to be flexible to meet the demands of the EP business
