Join this Long Established Consumer Goods Distributor (importer & exporter) with a successful track record of over 60 years delivering quality service to customers in Australia, NZ & SE Asia.
This reputable company with a Head Office in the Botany area close to public transport is looking to appoint a bright Supply Chain & Inventory Planner in this very diverse and pivotal role .
The role also involves some aspects of sales and admin support.
This diverse role requires / includes :
An ALLROUNDER who has a thorough understanding of inventory control, forecasting, warehousing and general supply chain fundamentals
Manage the company's day to day supply chain and logistics functions
Management of 3rd party suppliers to assess ability to meet quality & delivery requirements by implementing formalized SLA’s and analysis of monthly KPI statistics (Undertake annual pricing reviews)
Management of importing schedules including shipping co-ordination with freight forwarders
Managing inventory levels within calculated parameters (lead times, min / max levels etc.) including slow moving inventory / over stocks
Generate monthly inventory forecast
Maintenance of the product master database (item codes, description, supplier codes, pricing etc.) plus price list management
Overseeing arrival of shipments and import schedules
Work on special projects and tasks as required by management
Sales support to sales staff re samples / swatch spends and returns
Customer service overload and maintaining the swatching program
You will have excellent computer / Excel and analytical skills for this role PLUS around 4-5 years experience in supply chain coupled with an understanding of inventory planning preferably gained within a consumer goods wholesaler or FMCG industry.
Skills and experience :
Track record in managing multi-level supply chain partners direct & indirect.
Highly commercial mindset with good analytical skills.
Sound understanding of the Purchase and Inventory functionality of ERP systems (Sage 300 preferred)
Working knowledge of an inventory planning system (SIA - Sage Inventory Advisor preferred)
Effective team player and highly driven with a passion for identifying opportunities and new ways of doing things
Hands on collaborative and enjoys building long lasting relationships.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Effective customer service and sales support experience.
Tertiary qualification in business / logistics is desirable but not essential
