You will engage and lead a team of sales professionals to deliver outstanding results across our BankSA business. Reporting to the Head of SME Banking, St.

George Business Banking, and as a member of the BankSA Leadership Team, the Head of SME BankSA is accountable for leading our SME teams to deliver against whole of business outcomes : financial, customer, people and risk.

You will be accountable for the following :

  • Developing and executing the year-on-year strategy for BankSA’s SME business;
  • Accelerating the implementation of the broader long term BankSA SME strategy;
  • Delivering outstanding performance outcomes against whole of business measures such as financial, customer, people and risk;
  • Driving a commitment to creating magic for our customers at every touch point you will be expected to lead a team that is motivated, uncompromising and enthusiastic about understanding current needs, anticipating future needs, delivering specialised solutions and growing the businesses of customers within the SME segment;
  • Ensuring the right people are deployed into the right roles, to develop specialised SME specific knowledge to effectively partner with their customer base and to ensure a sustainable focus on service excellence throughout the SME segment;
  • Providing inspirational leadership to a geographically dispersed team of regional managers and bankers who will deliver our brand’s differentiated customer value proposition to customers;
  • Engaging with and influencing various stakeholders to ensure BankSA’s SME customer value proposition is maintained, enhanced and delivered; and
  • Representing BankSA in the external market place and driving ongoing recognition in the market for being the leading financial service provider to the SME segment.
  • To be successful in application you must have :

  • Strong, recent leadership skills and be seeking a challenge in which you can drive performance outcomes;
  • A proven track record of leading high performing sales teams to deliver exceptional results;
  • An understanding of the SME business banking market in Australia, in particular the challenges, trends, competitive and regulatory environment;
  • An ability to develop and lead SME specific marketing strategies to generate new business;
  • An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners internally to identify opportunities and achieve business growth.
