Virtu is looking for an experienced, customer focused Workflow Technology Coreops APAC Lead to join our Trading Coreops team.

  • Responsible for leading the Workflow Technology Coreops team in APAC, including Sydney, NSW Australia. Mentor the individuals within that team and evaluate their performance over time.
  • Manage the team’s workload effectively to ensure service level targets are met. Coordinate releases amongst the team members from QA environment to live trading environment.
  • Troubleshoot equity trading systems, order routing, front office, middle office and crossing application issues, determine source of problems, and identify solutions for internal and external clients, using technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of systems.
  • Trace order flow through multiple equity order routing systems by running scripts, analyzing and interpreting proprietary, as well as standard FIX and other log files.
  • Support Virtu’s all order routing systems.
  • Manage crisis situations and coordinate recovery efforts across multiple teams during such crisis situations.
  • Interface frequently with external business and technical partners, including but not limited to Exchanges, ECN’s, OMS, EMS and Network providers.
  • Participate in market rehearsals for Australia Stock Exchange (ASX) order routing systems and compliance applications.
  • Interpret requests from internal and external users. Review requirements and ensure that all requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Assume lead role in the design, testing and implementation process of tailor made solution for clients.
  • Lead projects of varying sizes concerning new business initiatives, technological initiatives, system maintenance, and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate project work with multiple teams and individuals for hardware upgrades, software upgrades, etc.
  • Participate in design of software specifications for Support Tools.
  • Create and run ad-hoc custom reports for trading desk and external clients.
  • Provide system and process documentation to users.

  • 10 years’ experience in the finance industry and from a trading environment.
  • Must have a university degree.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Asia Pacific equity markets.
  • Previous management or team-lead experience.
  • Excellent application and system problem-solving skills.
  • High sense of ownership of tasks. Reliable, fast learner, great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and ability to follow through with open issues until resolved.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes.
  • A self-starter able to work with minimal supervision, ability to pickup and run with tasks.
  • Proven track record with the ability to acquire application specific knowledge of equity trading and order routing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out a client setup, including setting up the initial workflow, as well as managing technical installations.
  • Good client management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and drive team to its full potential.
