We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and committed Team Leader in the Residential Disability Setting to join our growing organisation!

About the Role

As a Team Leader you will be leading a small team of Support Workers. some of your key responsibilities will include :

  • Providing varying levels of personal care
  • Documentation
  • Lead and develop the support worker team in the delivery of high quality person-centred services, in accordance with individual support plans and NDIS goals, and aligned to the State and National Disability Service Standards
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with clients, families and support staff, and provide quality response to feedback and complaints.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, appropriately matching customer needs and preferences with care staff capabilities
  • Ensure staff provide appropriate levels of assistance, support and service to each client to maximise opportunities for independence, personal growth and skill enhancement, in line with individual support plans
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and legislative requirements are understood and followed by staff, and monitor compliance
  • Be an effective role model and mentor for all team members to ensure awareness and accountability of procedures, documentation and reporting requirements
  • Build and maintain high standards of communication and reporting to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating skill enhancement, independence and self-determination
  • You must have a high level of computer literacy and ensure Data integrity; accurate data entry
  • What we are looking for?

    We have an exciting opportunity to manage a small team in our accommodation site in Strathpine. Some of the key responsibilities include :

  • Provide hands-on client care
  • Train, develop and provide support to a team of support workers
  • Ensure high standards of service delivery are maintained
  • Essential Criteria :

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or higher
  • Current Police Check (issued within the last 12 months)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Willingness and availability to work day shifts, and weekends (where required)
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and be highly organised
  • Highly desirable :

  • Previous experience managing an accommodation site
  • Previous experience supervising staff and managing rosters
  • Current driver's licence and reliable car
  • Manual handling training and experience
  • In addition to your qualifications and / or working experience, it is essential that you are / possess :

  • Demonstrated experience in team management or supervision (Health & Community Services, Retail or Hospitality highly desirable)
  • Experience in coaching and performance management
  • Exceptional time management skills and an ability to work under pressure
  • Strong and articulate communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic computer skills
