About the role :

Our Summer Internship Program provides university students with the opportunity to undertake a paid, six-week internship at RAA over the summer holidays.

This program provides budding professionals with valuable industry experience and the opportunity to see our values and culture firsthand.

As the Communications & Events Summer Intern, you will support the Corporate Communications team in the implementation of internal and external communications, sponsorships and events.

Over the six-week internship, you will work with the other RAA interns and your team to develop your professional skills, business acumen and gain insight into a rewarding career at RAA.

As a top performer, you may even find a potential pathway to employment!

You must be currently in your penultimate year of study with a minimum credit average, have Australian working rights, and be available for the full duration of the internship in Adelaide, from 11 Jan-19 Feb 2021.

Responsibilities :

  • Help to coordinate internal communications, including the staff newsletter, corporate emails, intranet copy, etc;
  • Help with the drafting and / or proofing communications materials for external audiences, including corporate publications, speeches, scripts, briefing notes, media releases, fact sheets, brochures, social media or website copy, etc;
  • Help with the preparation of media monitoring reports as required and assist in the development of media activities;
  • Provide support to the Events and Sponsorship Manager in the coordination and delivery of internal and external events;
  • Complete a group project with the other interns and present this on your final day.
  • What you need :

    At RAA we hire on cultural fit first and technical fit second! However, to be successful in the role you will need to have :

  • Currently studying a tertiary degree in Communications or Public Relations, due to complete in 2021;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence;
  • Positive attitude and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Passion for event coordination and management;
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • High academic achievement (minimum GPA 5.0 or credit average);
  • Strong sense of professionalism with the ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
