    Assist with leading cross functional teams to successfully execute plans

    Reporting to the Director, New Newsco, this role will be responsible for the coordination and successful delivery of business and financial outcomes through News Corp’s strategic transformation program.

    This will be achieved through an outstanding program and change management capability and fit for purpose programs governance structure.

    Partnering with the Finance Directors, the Program workstream leaders and the Tech PMO, this role is also responsible for prioritisation of programs and escalation of key decisions to the Executive using a stage-gate and milestone tracking process.

    What’s the role?

  • Establish and lead a core team with solid capability across; program execution, change management, program risk management, business architecture, and business process re-engineering
  • Ensure an appropriate program management framework, methodologies and tools are in place, incorporating Charters, stage gates, integrated roadmaps, cumulative change impacts, communication plans, risk management, cost and benefits management and interdependencies management

    Manage roadmap schedule to execute the portfolio of initiatives to achieve the best outcomes for the business

    Act as a liaison between the New Newsco Steerco and the program managers and business sponsors and assist program managers in the resolution of program related issues / problems

    Support new scopings of work for new initiatives and convert to programs / initiatives. Taking them from design to implementation

    Establish fit for purpose robust governance structure and operating rhythm to enable; timely and accurate information flow, progressive updates to Executive, timely decisions making, effective engagement and utilisation of Executive and senior leaders’ time

    Facilitate informed decision making by the Executive, by providing fact based recommendations

    Ensure interdependencies and portfolio risk are identified and managed / or escalated to the Executive for resolution where there are multiple programs or functions impacted

    Provide a transparent / independent view of progress identifying conflicts and interdependencies to support communications and change management

    Monitor and influence costs to be spent in line with budget and approved business cases

    Who you are?

  • Solid experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames
  • Experience in a media organisation

    Strong commercial acumen - develop solutions based on an understanding of the business environment and objectives

    Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems

    Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement

    Strategic Mindset : Sees ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies

    Anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders
