Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing The purpose of the Mental Health Professional (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist OPMH) is to coordinate and deliver mental health assessment, therapeutic intervention, care planning and recovery services to OPMH consumers with a wide range of mental health needs.

To provide clinical services to a caseload of consumers on a case management / care focus coordination, which have been allocated at the Merrylands OPMH clinical meetings.

To provide timely and appropriate assistance to consumers who are experiencing a mental health crisis, to their relative and significant others, in order to resolve the crisis.

To provide clinical handover and care zoning including triage, assessment, treatment as well as care coordination for a defined group of consumers.

To be responsible for formulating management plans, setting goals, referring and consulting with others as appropriate. To provide treatment and therapies to consumers and families, counselling and rehabilitative intervention, on an individual or group basis.

To provide support and education to family and significant others related to the consumer. Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that result in effective, ethical and empathic information exchange with clients and carers and collaboration with all stakeholders.
