We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead the creation, management and improvement of the technology platforms that service our customers, merchants and staff.
Working within our agile teams, you will collaborate with product engineering team members to design and build our technical platforms.
In addition, you will lead the ongoing improvement of our platform scalability, reliability, monitoring and alerting to ensure that systems are able to support our rapidly growing customer base and product improvement objectives
Take a customer-focused approach to engineering our applications
Support product objectives by designing appropriate system infrastructure
Use code to drive the adoption of automation
Define and implement appropriate system measures (including SLIs, SLOs)
Improve our platform observability
Empower developers to create secure and reliable infrastructure
Support our transitions to microservices and serverless architectures
Support continuous delivery aspirations by improving pipelines and tooling
Encourage the professional growth of team members through a variety of activities, including coaching, peer feedback, code reviews
Skills and Competencies
Extremely knowledgeable in relation to AWS
Deep understanding of Windows system administration, .NET web applications and .NET application modernisation
Sound understanding of Serverless architectures
Able to build and manage container-based infrastructure using Docker
Strong advocate for infrastructure-as-code and using code to improve outcomes
Experience with major infrastructure automation frameworks / tools
Experience administering and adopting observability tools (New Relic, Datadog, Sumo Logic, etc)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
At least five years commercial experience within an Operations / DevOps / System Administration role
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience working within agile development environments
Given the nature of our business, this role requires flexibility with occasional "after hours" work required depending on business requirements
