Role Summary :

The Lead Wind Service Technician is responsible for taking the lead for and performing scheduled and unscheduled servicing of wind turbines and site infrastructure.

This certified electrician with high voltage experience will be based on Silverton Wind Farm.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Lead & train site Technicians.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and share lessons learnt.
  • Preparation of work programs for the timely servicing of assets
  • Organise daily work plans for contractors
  • Interpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins, work instructions, etc. and devise work plans including all required resources
  • Perform and ensure the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets
  • Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation’s JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies / procedures
  • Report errors, violations, incidents or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
  • Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved
  • Answer questions from management, Engineering, Sourcing, Projects etc. as required
  • Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
  • Form part of an on call roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management
  • Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required including the holding of permits creating switching instruction and issuing permits
  • Be familiar with and follow all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to their job
  • Report any injuries, spills, near misses or related incidents and Any concerns about possible violations of this policy and any concerns about a possible request to violate this policy
  • Cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits
  • Call attention to fellow employees of unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and practices to their Manager, Supervisor, and EHS Manager / Coordinator.
  • Complete all required EHS Training
  • Understanding of basic AC / DC electrical circuits and ability to T / S and conduct circuit analysis (24VDC, 166VDC, 120, 230, 400, 575, 690VAC);
  • Carry out maintenance installation and repairs of the electrical apparatus reforming all maintenance functions related with electrical systems, and power generation distribution in line with safety operations and maintenance principles to guarantee the smooth functioning of the production facility for field operation work.

    Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Cert III In electrotechnology
  • Unrestricted Electrical Licence for NSW
  • A grade Electrical Licence
  • Certificate High Voltage Operator
  • LVR CPR Relevant Product & EHS training certifications.
  • Minimum 36 months experience
  • Proficient in fault finding
  • Trained intermediate level in computer skills
  • Must have proven ability to work well in teams and lead a team
  • Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights
