Embrace a seaside lifestyle change with this amazing opportunity as a Chef Manager to lead, motivate and develop our team onsite at our senior living site in Cowes, Phillip Island .

This is a hands-on role allowing you to work in the kitchen whilst taking responsibility for the overall management of the site.

You'll be supported by a team of front & back of house staff, produce & oversee the food offer, build on your strong employee management skills, rostering of your team, ordering and adherence to budgets, have a sound understanding of OH&S in the workplace and adherence to food safety plans.

A bit about your day

  • Lead, develop & motivate site based staff - Chef / Kitchen Hands & Catering Assistants
  • A focus on delivering fresh, nutritional sound meals within an aged care environment
  • Stock control, contribute to menu planning, texture modified meal planning, service of meals plus mid meal baking
  • Consistently high level of food presentation with full compliance to Compass Food Safety Plan plus undergo monthly training
  • Ensure all the production and compliance at site is adhered to
  • A bit about you

  • Trade qualifications - experience in a similar role will be well regarded
  • Ability to manage, motivate & develop your team
  • Experience in HACCP, food safety and infection control
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to work autonomously
  • In line with the required Legislation, a Valid and Current Police check is required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
