Lead sales for a unique, popular and trusted Australian retail and food service brand.Time flexible "on the road" role with good remuneration with prospects for growth.

Position title : Wholesale Sales Manager Truffle Paddock Part-Time, 2 2 ½ days per week initially. Role : You will lead wholesale sales growth for Australia’s most popular retail and food service range of Australian made truffle products.

This on the road’ sales role will sell our unique retail and food service truffle products to Greater Melbourne’s best independent food stores, delis, cafes, caterers and restaurants.

Initially this will involve strengthening relationships with existing customers and building new clients through strategic visits and cold calls.

It’s expected that the appointee will quickly build on their sales and / or food or restaurant industry experiences and contacts.

  • Related duties will include invoicing stock sold (using an easy POS system); regular feedback and reporting; participation in company development planning;
  • advice on pricing and margin analysis and suggesting new product developments. Team Truffle’ You’ll be supported by our small but talented company team.

    The team includes the Director - one of Australia’s most experienced truffle people’ - along with stock control, warehouse and ordering in capability, and superb PR, social media, design, photography and web support.

    Hours : 20 - 25 hours / week initially, potentially growing to full time, depending on sales growth and your availability.

    Benefits : $35-40 / hour as a consultant billing through an ABN, plus reimbursed travel and other expenses.

    Invoices will be paid fortnightly.

    A phone and laptop will be provided if needed.

    The hourly rate will be reviewed once initial sales targets are achieved.Sales Targets : $5K / week is your initial sales target, across wholesale retail and food service products.

    You report to : The Director, Truffle Melbourne & Truffle Paddock (Melbourne Truffle Festival Pty Ltd.)The brand story : The Truffle Paddock product range launched in 2018 through Truffle Melbourne’s pop up and online stores, followed by a very successful on the ground wholesale sales effort in Spring 2018.

    Steady sales growth followed, including to supermarket Coles (3 stores) and an upcoming David Jones offering.

    In 2020, online retail sales tripled and our winter pop up sales doubled (before Lockdown #2!).18 months after launch, we’re already Australia’s most popular Australian truffle products brand.

    The product range is attractively branded, packaged and media supported and offers prospective retailer customers good margins.

    The sales effort is supported by a strong social media campaign about to be re-launched for the 2020 / 21 Spring and Summer seasons.

    SELECTION CRITERIA - ESSENTIALYou must : Have sales or food industry experience.

    You might be an experienced food sales industry professional or even a chef looking for a changeHave experience in all or most of the given areas of responsibilityDemonstrate an ability to use mobile based ordering, invoicing, reporting and customer management systemsBe able to work flexible hoursBe able to work independently and possess sound interpersonal and customer management skillsDemonstrate a team-oriented attitudeHold Australian Citizenship or Permanent ResidencyHave a valid Australian driver’s license and your own vehicle.
