Salary : $150,131.00 - $168,333.00 base salary per annum

Position Summary :

A vacancy exists within the People & Culture Department for a highly motivated Workplace Relations Manager with extensive Employee Relations / Industrial Relations knowledge and skills to join our progressive and innovative team.

The Workplace Relations Manager, St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney is a key member of the People and Culture Team. The position is responsible for the smooth operation of Workplace Relations services to all managers within St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney and is required to provide high quality professional advice and solutions across all areas of Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

    Selection Criteria :

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law with an unrestricted NSW practicing certificate and / or tertiary qualifications in a related field and / or relevant demonstrated experience consistent with the demands of the position.
  • Extensive experience within Workplace Relations within a large organisation and a strong understanding of contemporary ER / IR frameworks, legislation and practices.
  • Complex case management skills and advocacy experience in matters before tribunals / courts with a strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to consult effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to coach and mentor people demonstrating advanced communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills including an ability to influence, negotiate, motivate, manage and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to apply logic and structure to resolve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated capacity to exercise judgement, discretion, confidentiality and initiative whilst working autonomously and collaborating cross-functionally.
