The Enabling Services Group (ESG) within DAWE has a significant role to deliver services that enable the department to achieve its mission.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) operates as the Australian Government’s principal revenue collection agency, administering legislation governing tax and superannuation, and supporting the delivery of government benefits to the community.

As an Assistant Commissioner in ATO People you will work within the Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Operations Group in the ATO.

We are seeking outstanding senior executives to fill various Human Resource (HR) Assistant Secretary / Commissioner vacancies across a number of APS departments.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality strategic and operational HR outcomes across the organisation and play a key role in ensuring the workforce has the capability and capacity to support achieving organisational objectives.
You will be a member of the senior executive and will contribute to the broader leadership of the organisation by ensuring we can attract, develop, mobilise and retain talented and capable employees now and into the future.
You will also be part of a professional APS HR body, that is working together to bring the highest standard of HR practise to the APS.

If an offer of non-ongoing employment is made, the successful applicant could be employed for a period of five years in total.
The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of twelve months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies where the duties are of a similar nature.
