The Role

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Woden team as a Claims Advisor in a permanent full-time role.

As a Claims Advisor you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims to ensure that our injured customers receive the relevant treatment and rehabilitation, and that their claims for compensation are processed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This busy and varied role will see you managing a portfolio of claims from inception, investigating the liability situation, gathering and analysing medical and rehabilitation data, assessing the value of the claim, and negotiating settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and negotiation of claims, including communication with claimants and solicitors, by phone, correspondence and / or attending settlement conferences and / or hearings
  • Obtaining and reviewing medical, financial, investigative and rehabilitation reports to assist in the accurate assessment of individual claims
  • Ensuring legislative compliance timeframes are met in conjunction with ongoing review of medical, financial investigative and rehabilitation reports
  • Negotiating claims settlements with either claimants or their solicitors in line with legislative, regulatory and procedural guidelines
  • Providing an excellent level of customer service to the legislative authority, employers and injured workers through compliance with legislation.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to listen, build rapport, communicate complex information and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders included claimants, third party providers, external bodies and internal teams
  • Strong administrative and written skills and the ability to effectively manage all aspects of each claim whilst keeping in the restraints of the ACT legislation
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to workplace improvement and changes
  • Previous insurance claims experience would be an advantage
  • Exposure to Workers Compensation or an Allied Health background would be beneficial
