Microsoft’s Global Demand Center team is leading the marketing transformation of Microsoft’s large and fast-growing commercial businesses.

Before interacting with traditional sales channels, Microsoft’s customers learn about products and services by engaging with our brand and products through digital and in-

person experiences. Through modern marketing tactics, the GDC team is connecting and optimizing these channels through advanced analytics and marketing automation.

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Programs Manager to work with area marketing teams to connect local marketing programs to our customer nurture engine.

This role will immediately focus on our digital and in-person events transformation across the Asia region. This role will also extend to support future GDC marketing programs where appropriate.

As part of the Asia regional team, you will help scale Microsoft’s GDC efforts throughout the region : Australia, Japan, GCR, and India bridging Microsoft HQ, local and international partners, area marketing teams, and inside sales teams.

In this role, you will partner with area marketers to land best practices on connecting the global events blueprint and local area events as well as our ability to connect and nurture the event attendees, using the GDC engine.

The Marketing Programs Manager will also partner closely with our Regional Account Based Marketing (ABM) team and leverage the insights they provide to drive the right set of customers to the local events.

    Responsibilities

  • On-board and integrate with WW GDC and WW Marketing & Operations (WW M&O) events teams, establishing R&Rs, Rhythm of Business and working practices.
  • Building a strong connection between Microsoft Redmond and area marketing.

  • Lead regional landing of the Events Blueprint in collaboration with GDC Redmond and WW M&O. Work with area teams on area guidance, clarity and stakeholder engagement.
  • Key advisory on global flagship events being delivered in region by Worldwide Events to ensure a connected customer journey and GDC integration (e.
  • g. Hannover Messe, NRF and Ignite Tour).

  • Establish working best practices and rhythm with GDC Regional team. Specifically, the roles of Marketing Planning & Marketing Performance.
  • Become a trusted local knowledge advisor and experiential consultant to area marketing at a high level; providing the Area CMO Events team and Integrated Marketing Manager’s with local guidance and coaching to ensure they deliver the events blueprint and are embedding it into future planning.
  • Lead accountability in region for events cadence targets that have been set; working closely with both the roles in GDC Regional of Marketing Planning and Marketing Performance Leads.
  • Become key member of regional v-team for Ignite. Support the Ignite Regional Tour attendee objectives and advise area marketing on their demand generation strategy.
  • Be a key advisor in the feedback loop to WW GDC and WW M&O on what improvements can be made by the GDC to support the success of local events marketing.
  • Establish a process around the local events cadence within EMEA / Asia / Americas so that the calendar is being seen and used by Worldwide Inside Sales.
  • Ensuring there is local area event impact into the GDC.

    Qualifications

  • College degree (MBA / Masters preferred) and 10+ years of relevant work experience in marketing, with business planning and operations an advantage.
  • Ability to navigate through a complex matrix organization and lead process changes.
  • Experience managing marketing programs end-to-end aligned to clear and specific outcomes.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced connected sales & marketing environment.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end customer journey aligned to business plans in order to put in place the right events strategy and execution plan.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize key insights into actionable program recommendations.
  • Strong executive maturity, presence, and track record of marketing impact and influence.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills; proven cross-group collaboration and enduring partnerships. Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Directly interacting with customers at both an operational and senior level.
  • Putting the customer first and understanding how their business challenges map to value props and solutions.
  • A trusted advisor and strong communicator with marketing, sales, product groups and partners.
  • Ability to deliver reporting and analysis against agreed timelines.
  • Being able to operate at both a peer and senior stakeholder level across the business.
