As an Engineering Lead you will lead the development of solutions that mitigate risk and create efficiency in business operations for Financial Crime Technology.
Line management and mentoring of a medium-large sized geographically dispersed team. You will leverage your experience with people leadership and apply and expand your advanced technical knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
Key to your success will be your resilience and adaptability to work in a fast paced environment that demands constant improvement and a dynamic response to change.

Proven experience in building and managing an effective team of high caliber software engineersAt least 10 years' experience in software engineering, with a focus on distributed computing and analytics on large scale data integration, data processing or analytics platformsHands on experience with software engineering practices, including design, automation and continuous deliveryExperimental design concepts and experience embedding within an organizationPrior experience in implementing off the shelf software productsAML / Financial Crime Domain expertiseSAS and AbInitio experienceExperience in in financial services with a clear understanding of strategy, market opportunities and disruptive threatExperienced in industry standard delivery methodologies, in particular agile methodologyImplementing contemporary software engineering practices in an enterprise context including continuous integration with source control and test and deployment automation in a Linux environment
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline
Technical training or certifications in enterprise technology i.e. Linux, Java, OracleSAS certifications or equivalent i.
e. Base SAS or Advanced SASFinancial Crimes related certifications i.e. ACAMS
Roles and Responsibilities-
You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA’s Values and People Capabilities. As Lead Engineer, the primary purpose of the role is to help build and lead a high performing team in the Financial Crimes Platform, delivering a first class customer experience with world class technology solutions.
To do this you will :
Develop the technical, interpersonal and leadership skills of the team in a structured wayBuild a world class culture within the Engineering practiceWork with partner and research organisation to research new engineering approaches and augment our skill set.
Hire top talent consistently and at scale across a large team and diverse set of rolesEstablish and maintain strong relationships with a broad set of senior business and technology stakeholders and work with them to define and solve business problemsMove our engineering teams toward continuous integration and delivery, and established common practices across all engineering teams.
Establish a highly productive engineering capability by implementing and governing appropriate software engineering standards and processesRemain abreast of innovation and software engineering practices within the industry and work to apply this within the context of the Bank.
Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Group policies and external regulatory requirements.
