To assist in contract negotiations, the team requires an experienced and professional Commercial Manager.   In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing commercial guidance and direction to the SATCOM 3F business stream and project team within this area, including direct management of significant commercial issues and leading commercial negotiations with customers and subcontractors/suppliers.In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:• Manage commercial and contractual terms and conditions• Manage relationships with internal and external customers• Provide functional support and guidance to direct reports• Provide guidance to the business and projects on compliance with contract, corporate Australian government and foreign government requirements for management of intellectual property, controlled technology, confidential information and classified data• Contribute to the overall management of the SATCOM 3F business, the delivery of project outcomes and the achievement of strategic aims• Attend and contribute to phase reviews, bid approval reviews and contract status reviews• Identify and manage commercial risks and liabilities, develop cost effective means of managing those risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures• Resolve issues with foreign exchange, payment arrangements,  guarantees and insurance• Prepare negotiating strategies and lead negotiating teams on commercial issues• Prepare and deliver commercial management plan for the lines of business   As the ideal applicant you will have:• Extensive commercial and contract management experience and the ability to negotiate favourable terms for our project• Very strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills• Proven leadership experience coupled with experience supporting and managing multiples contracts• A proven track record in successful negotiation at a high level• Commercial experience coupled with a university degree level qualification in an appropriate business, law, project management or engineering discipline As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.Applications should be addressed to: Lesley Mackman, Senior Recruitment SpecialistPrevious applicants need not apply.Please ensure you attach a current resume and copy of your relevant qualification(s) to your application.
